The Australian version of the 780xlt is being tested here in Oz right now, and will be available in March 2001. It will have full 800Mhz coverage, but as stated earlier, the 800MHz trunking will be no good for the US market, as our 800MHz trunking band is different to the US band. Also the service search is different to the Us versions, and there is no WX in the Australian model. Just to add to that, a few of the band will have different frequency stepping, which would cause problems in the US. |
