Yes, in some ways you are right. I enjoy using Probe and all the great features it provides, Etrax for the professional working EDACS tracking, and most of all TrunkTrac for professional Motorola TrunkTracking. I don't have one program that will do all this properly without loss of performance.

Then again, I think I would still buy the BC780XLT if it was the first scanner I was going to get.

I find the Control Channel tracking, I-call features, EDACS AFS decode and search methods, and PC control with the right software, will beat the OptoCom's abilitys with no problem.
