On Wayne's point, why is the protocol such a big secret? We're going to figure it out anyway. Just stick another computer between the serial port and the scanner and watch what transpires. Why not just tell us in the spirit of being hobbyists instead of making us go to the trouble?
The protocol is designed for terminal use to begin with. Radio Shack and a number of others publishes their protocols. The BC895's protocol was eventually published too, so how long do we have to wait for the protocol for the 780?
Is it about time we get organized and send Uniden et al email or something? How many others out there feel the way I do? I'm not trying to start a food fight here; just trying to understand where we're all at with this item. After all, we're helping Uniden sell through a good chunk of their first batch of 780s and it seems we deserve a reasonable answer on this or we should continue to make our points heard.
