The Optocom is far more capable than the 780 whith the right software running, but it is more of a investigative tool than an everyday scsanner like the 780. If you want something you can just flip on and listen, the the 780 is a better way to go. If you are really into searching and investigating systems and you don't mind always having to turn on a computer before you start scanning, then the Optocom is a better way to go. Don't forget you'll probably want to buy some better software for Optocom (like Scanstar), so it is a much more expensive route. |
