Johnny, first of all, a 1/4 wave 800 Mhz antenna should be approximately 3 1/2 inches. I'm sure you don't want to turn your stock radio antenna into a stub.

Secondly, those "hidden scanner/AM-FM radio antenna" couplers DO NOT WORK. I tried one and returned it many years ago. The scanner reception on the usual VHF, UHF & 800 bands was fair at best. The AM-FM was REALLY BAD. It was useless for that.
