Yep, venturing into trunking and just discovered something that is probably readily apparent to the rest who already trunk. The system I trunk is small 5 frequencies total. However once I setup the control channel trunking and figured out how to do it and got it working, I went back to manual and discovered much to my dismay that the other 4 channels of the system were not automatically entered into the bank where I had the control frequency for control channel tracking! I guess what that means is now each day or other day when the system changes control channels as it does on a regular basis I will not be able to trunk them unless I reset it up again. I thought the purpose of this feature was so the scanner could automatically enter all the frequencies for you and there would not be any mess or fuss with frequency entry, but I guess I am wrong.
So now I need to go back and enter all the frequencies, take off control channel tracking only and go back to normal tracking.
Don't get me wrong this is a great SCANNER! I really like it, I just had a misconception of what it would do for me in control channel only trunking. It does however show each frequency of voice when there is a transmission so I guess it would be a good feature to use to search for new trunking systems which you don't know the frequencies of...
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
