Dave,

Actually the 92/2067 display only six digits: AHHGGG.

I've profiled about a dozen LTR systems here in Ottawa Ont.
on my 92B (no 780 in the cards just yet). The repeater IDs are
in no order as I guess is becoming apparent (example: 3-channel
system with HR's 01,05, and 09).

As has been suggested, watch for talkgoups when things are fairly
quiet and there's not too much "trunking out". On the 92 with ID
hold on, it's possible to correlate the user's HR with a particular
channel; assume the same can be done with the '780. If I'm not
mistaken if the user is on his HR, this is the repeater ID.

Another bit of info, sometimes databases are out of date and
don't list all channels in the system. I have had to go and round
up "stray" channels and correlate them with a system. This is time-
consuming but can be done by comparing TG numbers from the stray
against all known systems; then add the new channel(s). Fortunately
one 16-channel system seems to have only two more channels.

Lastly, the 92B does not seem to need the LTR channels in any
order. I assume it scans subaudible data on all programmed channels
until it finds the correct ID (in closed mode). Does anyone know
how the 780 does this?

Dave
