Edac NFM to FM. Am I seeing things???

An edac bank in the 460mhz range has all the freqs. modes set as NFM.
When I turn on trunking, the readout changes to FM!?!? It seems to trunk correctly, but... but...
I can't understand what's happening. It's beginning to **** me off.
Anyone have an explanation?
