Traffic volume on the trunk systems should NOT be an issue. The 780 doesn't work that way. When the 780 is scanning both conventional and trunk it will stop for only ONE active talkgroup in a given trunk system. Once that talkgroup becomes inactive it will move out of that system and start scanning the conventional frequencies that are in the same bank, then move on to the next bank, etc. As the 780 moves from trunk to conventional the display will change from "ID SCANNING" to "SCANNING". Are you sure you're conventional frequencies aren't locked out, attenuated, etc.? Also, if you've inadvertantly assigned them as trunked frequencies that may prevent them from being scanned conventionally. Hope this helps.
