Thanks for the very professional posting, Greg and on behalf of
everyone here, let me reiterate our thanks for all of your valuable
input!These boards and site are here for all of us to share, learn and
hopefully grow. We all have our own opinions and it is possible
to debate any of our concerns without resorting to childish
insults and/or flame war-type tactics. I would like everyone to
respect everyone else's opinions. I'm not saying you have to
agree or like them but everyone is allowed to post as long as it's
done in an adult manner.
Now, as for the 780, I had a chance to take it in the car and
drive around a bit. Right now, I would have to say that my
biggest sore spot with it would be the lack of audio power. If
I do put this radio in my car, I will HAVE to add an external
speaker with amplifier. It is fine for home use but for noisy
roads and quieter signals, I need much more volume. I was pleased
with the LCD's visibility in various lighting conditions and
overall sensitivity vs. interference rejection. Biggest problem I
had here was pager images on a few 450/460 range freqs.
I really would have liked Uniden to have designed in 20 banks of
30 or 40 channels each rather than 10 of 50. 10 banks is simply
nowhere near enough for my monitoring!
