Okay! Enough of the personal attacks. My goal was not to attack this radio.
However, my goal was to be the first to point out a few flaws since I assumed that
over 90% of the post were going to be positive. My opinions were aimed at the more
discriminative of radio users. If I'm going to considered an A$$ for my opinion, so be it.As for the e-mail stating that I was "challenging" Greg Knox, that is not true. I have nothing against Greg.
As far as I'm concerned, he's a good guy. He was only trying to help (I'm sure) while assuming that I
was in error while operating the radio after an active talkgroup ID. This was not the case.
There is a 1 second delay and the manual states that there is.
I made it clear (I thought?) that this hurt my scanning in MY SITUATION.
The fact is that this delay makes the Pro 92A or 2067 better in MY SITUATION.
My other complaint is the audio. I will be able to better test it tomorrow.
It doesn't sound that good turned up. However, the radio sounds better on conventional freq. than on trunked.
Maybe it's just my ears? Some people have billed this radio more geared toward the "professional"
user. If so, the audio sure in the hell wasn't.
This radio also has an identity crisis. Which is it? A mobile or a home base?
The menu system sucks for mobile use. Just try to ATT some channels while driving down the road.
Or trying to view the display in an angle.
This radio has some great things for it. The squelch tail is the best for an Uniden model.
This radio has great ears. I'm really impressed with what it can pick up.
A per channel ATT is a great. This unit does have a lot of bells and whistles.
The only thing that I don't know about is the selectivity.
It failed the first test, but I think ALL of my other radios get this wrong as well.
As for the nitwit who said that Ed wouldn't get my e-mail address...
Not only did he get my e-mail address, he got my real e-mail address, not a bogus "hotmail" address.
Happy Holidays!
