Even though I haven't really had a problem with the audio. So many have commented on how much better the audio is with one, I decided to go out and get one. I bought one at Radio Shack, it seems to work pretty well as far as the sound is concerned, but I have noticed that I also hear the internal workings of the scanner through the speaker which is a little irritating. I figure either the bump, bump, bump noise goes or this speaker goes back to RS. If anyone knows a fix let me know.Regards, Larry.
