As I recall, the 20-044 is the "big" RadShack antenna designed for VHF lo, hi, and UHF. It is not specifically designed for 800 Mhz receive, altho' it does do an "OK" job of it.
IF the problem does not turn out to be "desensing" (as Dick and Tom have suggested in their replies), perhaps you might want to put up a DEDICATED 800 Mhz antenna with a signal splitter or combiner to remedy this problem? Just be sure to use the best possible cable and low-loss connectors available to do so.
