Rich,Yes, I know about the control channel thing. Wouldn;t you know, though....
I've been monitoring the Nassau County (NY) EDACS system for a
while and for as long as I can remember the control channel was
always on ch 1. Well, as luck would have it, I tried the
channel lockout thing last night and I DID see an improvement in
the reacquire time. However, guess what? A little while later
my scanner was acting funny. I took it out of TT mode and noticed that
the CC had moved to #3! I unlocked that one, locked out #1 and started over.
AGAIN! The CC moved to #11 in about ten minutes! I never saw
them do this before (maybe their trying to prevent us from having
our fun :^(
Anyway, I went back to unlocking all the channels on this system.
The idea still works on the NYC DOITT system as the CC doesn't
rotate (at least not yet.......)
