Ho boy! I have to concur that "Washingnun, D.C." is a good proving ground for any scanner.

Head down the Southwest Freeway and shoot down past the Capitol, either on the freeway or down the ramp to South Capitol Street. You should hear quite a racket there. :)
Another good test spot would be Tenley Town up at Wisconsin and Nebraska Avenues.

Also, until D.C. fire qualifies its new trunked units they are still using 154.19 and 154.235, plus there's good old Montgomery fire on 154.16 and Arlington fire simulcast 1A on 154.13, so that should take care of that part of high band.

Actually, this report is strangely comforting, since I was having a difficult time believing the glowing reports of bullet-proofness coming from others. I had a MICOR on 450 that used to get ripped up a little bit down by the Capitol, so don't feel so bad about the scanners. D.C. is a rough place, in more ways than one!
