I'm reading the manual and I came across the section (pg 31) about the 3 squelch modes. What exactly is the difference between Carrier Squelch & Tone Squelch ?
The only thing I can see is that if I turn up the squelch all the way in Carrier SQ mode, it will stop scanning right away and lock into a channel, whether that channel is active or not. In Tone SQ mode, it doesn't do that. What does this accomplish ?I've got PL tones for a lot of my frequencies so which mode do I leave the scanner in ? Right now I've got it in Tone SQ mode. thanks,
