My 780XLT explodes when UHF radio transmits. Ahh

Well I finally removed my 2067 and installed one of my 780's in my car the other day. Today I was about to rip it out and throw it out the window along the Mass Pike. It seems a little more sensitive than the 2067 but here is the problem. It explodes when my two-way radios are being transmitted on. Sometimes it just cuts out and scans on....this I can handle. But much of the times it just goes nuts causing me to have to grab for it while driving to turn it down. I don't expect that it can have the selectivity to be able to withstand 100 watts of UHF coming at it's antenna from across the roof even sharing the ground plane. However the 2067 and a long list of scanners before that did not have this much trouble. This is really too bad considering one of their markets was intended to be public safety people and two way radio users. I'm going to give it another week but I'm afraid I might have to put the 2067 back. For some reason it stands up to the RF so well that some UHF signals seem to come through untouched while transmitting. Oh well you can't win them all It is only a scanner..
