I'm not sure what you mean by this. When the control channel drops the radio DOES need to go find another one, and so it does. That is what's called reacquisition.
Are you referring to the control channel reacquisition in the face of system inactivity for greater than about 10 seconds? In that case you are right, it could have been done better. In any case it's only a problem with an inactive system and not much of a performance problem at that. Yes, it does LOOK annoying on the LCD. I don't expect it to be "fixed."
