He means a serial-to-USB converter made by Belkin (www.belkin.com), part #F5U103. Since this item costs about $75, I'm not going to try it unless I havea pretty high degree of confidence that it will solve my problem, which I don't. In terms of SPEED, I am very happy with the direct serial connection, my only issue is that the WinScan780 software loses the connection with the scanner after a few minutes of use. |
