Wayne,If I understand correctly, you are saying that due to the fact that multiple conversations occur simultaneously on a trunked system anyway-- one is unable to monitor EVERY conversation on the system at the same time with one radio? Guess what, you ARE correct! But nobody here is trying to do that (that I've seen).
The whole premise of the trunktracker is to be able to hear JUST those conversations in which you desire to hear. For example, I wish to listen to my local fire department. I have a "list scan" bank specifically for them. Regardless of any other activity on the system, if I'm scanning just that bank, and someone from my local fire department keys their radio, I should hear their traffic. It does not matter that at the very same instant, the sanitary department, meter reader, and city attorneys are keyed up on their radios at that moment. The data stream continutally streams the talkgroup i.d.'s for all of the talkgroups active at that time. If you are "scan list" scanning or "id holding" the scanner listens for just those i.d.(s) you specify.
So, the desire is not to hear every single transmission there is on a system, it is to hear the desired transmissions (i.e. talkgroup(s) ) un-molested.

Mike
