I hate to burst your bubble guys, but guess what. Yep you are missing transmissions ANYWAY even if it was'nt reaquiring the control channel!

Ok, so you ask how.

Heres what I have observed.

I have trunked the same system with both my BC895 and BC780.

Yes they are both doing a great job at it.

But when the 780 stopped on a transmission on one frequency just a fraction of a second later the 895 stopped on a transmission on another frequency.

So what, you say.

Ok how about this. There are 5 frequencies in the trunk system I track, less 1 for the control channel now there are 4. There are therefore 4 persons in the field that can use this radio system AT THE SAME TIME. The control channel will assign the NEXT UNUSED frequency to the next field user up to the point of all 4 voice channels being used simultaneously.

Now the question. JUST how many of these transmissions are YOU going to hear with one or two radios tracking the system. Let's see a little math says 1 channel per scanner, yep at max capacity you would need 4 scanners trunk tracking the system to hear them all. Of course then if you need to hear it all you could just use 4 scanners one on each frequency in conventional mode then you would'nt miss anything!

So the whole purpose of the trunk tracker is for trunking systems which generally don't have near capcity usage. Just remember you can only hear one frequency at a time on your scanner no matter what type or what its capabilities are.

Hmm....... Maybe TrunkTracker 4 will have multiple receivers built in with multiple audio sections and multiple speakers to track and receive multiple frequencies and play the audio at the same time. But now I only have 2 ears How can I listen to 4 speakers Hmm.....

IN a perfect world....

Think about this a while :-)

Take care. Wayne.
