The 780 will not automatically figure out a Type I Fleet Map. I won't say that it would be impossible to do but I doubt if it would be either easy or reliable.As for the preset fleet maps: Here's the truth on those. When Uniden was originally offered the trunking algorithms they balked because they thought it was too complicated for the average scanner user to ever program in a Fleet Map. So we came up with the idea of preset maps. We knew they were practically usless but they convinced Uniden the scanner could be programmed by the masses. Greg Knox
